Call for end to ruins’ red tape in Tipp graveyards

Local community groups across the Premier receive funding from the coucil to maintain their own cemeteries but are not allowed to touch any monuments that might be on site.

If they are in danger of falling then scaffolding or other temporary measures are put in place but councillors says these can be an eyesore as well as a physical impediment to loved ones visiting graves.

North Tipp Fine Gael Councillor Ger Darcy wants a more commonsense approach adopted.
