The blaze broke out at a dormer house at Kilnamack at around 4 o’clock this morning.
One unit of Clonmel Fire Service along with a unit from Cahir and its water tanker attended the scene and battled the blaze overnight. They stood down after 11 this morning.
A man in his 30’s was fatally injured in the fire.
He was the sole occupant in the house at the time.
A forensic examination of the scene is being carried out but at this stage the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
