The way has been cleared for a major expansion of parking in the heart of Clonmel.
Elected representatives have given the green light for works at the Suir Island car-park.
The current car-park has 71 spaces – this is to be increased to over 260 next year.
District Engineer Eamon Lonergan says it will tie in with existing and future plans for the town.
