Three people were rescued from a boat which had gone adrift on Lough Derg yesterday afternoon.

The 30 foot cruiser had suffered engine failure in Scariff Bay.

The Lough Derg RNLI crew came to their assistance – only one of those on board the stricken vessel was wearing a life jacket.

The cruiser was towed to safety at Mountshannon Harbour.
