Wait almost over for Tipp Leaving Cert students

The wait is almost over for students across Tipperary who sat their Leaving Cert last June.

The results are due out on Wednesday next.

A total of 2,200 sat the state exam in the Premier County this year.

They will face a whole new set of grades with the old system being replaced by what’s called the Common Points Scale.

It means that 14 different results have been reduced to just eight.

Tipperary native Gerry Flynn is former President of Guidance Councillors of Ireland.

The former teacher at the Loreto in Clonmel says part of the new system is to make it more attractive for students to take Higher Level papers.
