Visiting restrictions at UHL

Family and friends of Tipperary patients in the University Hospital Limerick are facing restrictions on visiting times due to an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.

Management at the hospital, which caters for North Tipperary, say that due to an increase of cases of the Norovirus they have introduced restrictions on visiting with only one person per patient allowed during the allocated times.

Visiting hours are between 2 and 4pm and from 6 to 8.30pm. Nobody will be allowed to visit outside these times while children under 12 should not visit the hospital. Anyone suffering from any colds, flu’s or other infections are also being reminded not to visit the hospital.

The hospital says it regrets the action but it is necessary to prevent the spread of the bug.
