Two people have been killed in a road crash in Tipperary this morning.

The two car crash happened on the straight stretch of road in Limerick Junction at the racecourse at 7.20.

Gardaí have confirmed that two people have been killed…it's believed that they are the drivers of both cars. Nobody else was injured.

The road is sealed off and will remain closed for several hours to allow for a technical examination to take place.

Diversions are in place – motorists travelling from Limerick are being diverted at Oola and then through Doon and Cappawhite onto Tipperary Town.

Those travelling from Tipp town towards Limerick are being diverted onto the Emly Rd (R515) and turning right at Shronell and then travelling onto Cullen before returning to the N24 at Monard.

Gardai are asking drivers using these diversions to take extra care as the roads are narrow and extremely busy.
