Tipperary well represented at a speed-dating event with a difference in Dublin today.

Bord Bia has brought over 500 of the world's top food buyers to Marketplace International where they will meet with Irish producers.

13 Tipperary food and drink producers are in Dublin today where they will get a chance to sell their wares to hundreds of the worlds top buyers.

In all there are nearly 200 Irish food and drink suppliers who will spend 25 minutes with buyers from markets including the US, the Middle East and China in the hope of winning new business.

Almost 5,000 of these “speed date” meetings will take place at the Convention Centre across the course of the day.

Bord Bia Chairman Michael Carey says he's confident the 'matchmaking' will be a great boost to farmers and producers.

A number of buyers paid a visit to the beef farm of Tim Meagher at Clonan near Roscrea earlier this week as part of the Bord Bia promotion.
