Tipperary tourism targets better marketing

There are calls for better marketing of Tipperary and the Lough Derg region as a tourism destination.

While 2016 was a record year for visitor numbers to Ireland parts of the country are still missing out on both foreign and domestic visitors.

The tourism industry is now Ireland's largest indigenous employer with 230,000 involved in the sector.

However Chief Executive of the Irish Tourist Industry confederation – Eoghan O'Meara Walsh – says more needs to be spent on promoting the Premier County.
