Tipperary boy critical following incident while on holiday in Cork

The 3 year old year from north Tipperary was on holiday with his parents and two brothers at the Quality Hotel in Redbarn when he got into difficulty.

It’s understood he became separated from other youngsters he was playing with.

He has been named locally as Ronan Kennedy from Templederry – he was on holiday with his parents John and Bridget Kennedy and his two brothers.

Ronan – who is due to celebrate his 4th birthday in September – was initially taken to Cork University Hospital before being transferred to Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin, where he's still being treated this morning.
