Tipp region overcrowding numbers high again

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation anyone presenting to the Emergency Departments at South Tipp General or University Hospital Limerick can expect a lengthy wait.

31 patients are waiting for a bed having been admitted from the ED at UHL, which serves North Tipp – the Dooradoyle hospital is the second busiest in the country today behind Cork University Hospital which has 41 people on trolleys or chairs.

Meanwhile at South Tipp General in Clonmel there are 23 patients who have yet to be taken onto a ward.

Overall there are 345 people in a similar situation across the country.
