Tipp mountaineering club members rescue crashed paraglider

Gerard Sheehy and Pat Beardmore were out walking on Saturday when a paraglider flying above them over the Seefin summit came crashing to the ground.

The men, who are part of the Clonmel-based Peaks Mountaineering Club, rang the emergency services around 1.30 and in less than an hour, the injured man was taken to hospital.

Gerard Sheehy, who's originally from Ballyporeen and living in Grange, says the paraglider was very lucky to sustain relatively minor injuries.
