Gardaí in the Clonmel District have carried out a major day of action as part of Operation Thor.
The multi-agency effort involved Customs, the Regional Response Unit and the Garda Dog Unit
Checkpoints were mounted at a number of locations across the district yesterday while a number of searches were carried out along with several arrests under outstanding warrants.
Inspector James White says the operation is also aimed at reassuring the public that Gardaí are actively pursuing burglars and other criminal elements.
