Thurles residents angry at parking at Semple

Residents close to Semple Stadium are furious over parking on their green areas during recent matches.

During Tipperary's Munster semi final win over Waterford, the allocated car parks surrounding the stadium were under-used while supporters parked in housing estates and on the streets.

The issue was raised at the recent meeting of the Templemore-Thurles municipal district where representatives criticised match-goers for not using parking facilities available.

The matter is to be raised at the next meeting of the Joint Policing Committee.

Fianna Fail's John Hogan says it's not fair to people who live in the area to have to put up with damage to their greens.
