Thousands to pay final respects to Jimmy Doyle

The 76 year old – who passed away suddenly on Monday evening – is widely considered to be one of the greatest hurlers of all time with 6 All Ireland medals along with 9 Munster and 7 National League titles.

Tributes and memories of the late, great Jimmy Doyle continue to flood in following his sudden death on Monday.

The President of the GAA Aogán Ó Fearghail  has extended his sympathies to the family and friends of the Thurles man and said his prowess was admired far and wide, and his input to the traditions that underpin Tipperary hurling – and indeed the GAA as a whole in the county – have been deservedly well documented.

Jimmy will repose at the Sarsfields Social Centre, Semple Stadium from 4 o'clock this afternoon until 8 this evening.

Parking will be provided this evening at Sarsfield pitch, while Semple Stadium will also be open for parking at the back of the New Stand.

People are being asked to enter via the main stadium from Sarsfield Road.

Funeral mass will be held tomorrow morning at 10am in Bother na Naomh Church.
