South Tipp Gen asks ED patients to stay away

The Hospital in Clonmel is severely  overcrowded due to a significant increase in the number of people coming in.

The HSE is advising patients to go to their GPs if possible as a first port of call.

The latest trolleywatch figures say there are 33 people waiting for a bed at South Tipp general.

University Hospital Limerick , which serves patients from North Tipperary is even higher at 37.

Overall the INMO says there's 448 on trolleys nationwide with Cork University Hospital the most overcrowded at 40.
