Shannon Group to meet with staff to discuss voluntary redundancies at the company.

The body has called a meeting of staff and union representatives on Monday to discuss the plan.

Fianna Fáil spokesperson on Transport Timmy Dooley says its disappointing news as it flies in the face of commitments and expectations that were set out by the management and the government when they set about the separation of Shannon from the Dublin Airport Authority.

He says at the time they said not alone would there be no necessity for any job losses but that there would be an increase in employment at the airport.
