Shane Ross comments on OCI report

A light has been shone on the ‘unknown rotten culture at the heart of the OCI’, according to the Sport Minister.

Shane Ross is attending the Oireachtas Committee on Sport, where he said the Moran report into the Rio Olympics ticketing scandal has highlighted shameful standards of corporate governance under Patrick Hickey’s presidency.

Responding to the publication of the Moran report on Monday, Pat Hickey said his name was cleared, and that he looked forward to resuming his international Olympics duties.

If he does rejoin the International Olympic Committee, he would automatically get a board role with the OCI, which current board members have said they hope will not happen.
