Scam warning from Tipp Gardaí

At least one lady has received a phone call asking her if she was a pensioner.

When she told him she was he said she was getting a €25 top-up and asked her for her bank details so he could process the payment.

The woman hung-up at that point and informed the Gardaí.

Superintendent Pat O'Connor of Tipp Garda station is warning people not to give out bank details over the phone and not to engage with such callers.
