‘Project EDWARD’ taking place

Today is 'European Day Without A Road Death'.

Known as 'Project EDWARD' the joint initiative of safety and police authorities aims to ensure no-one dies on any road across Europe today.

On average, 70 people die – and a further 370 are seriously injured – every day on EU roads.

In Tipperary, 12 people have lost their lives on the county's roads since the start of this year.

Garda Commissioner Nóirín O'Sullivan says it’s about taking personal responsibility.
