Poor attendance at first meeting of Tipperary Joint Policing Committee

Concern's been expressed over a poor turnout of local representatives at Tipperary County Council's 1st Joint Policing Committee.

Of the 15 Councillors appointed to the group – only 6 turned out to the meeting while only 2 of Tipperary's 6 Oireachtas members attended, while the head of Tipperary's Garda Division along with Chamber representatives did attend.

Local Councillor and Committee member Sinn Fein's David Doran says it’s particularly disappointing given the push to establish the group – he feels it’s a cavalier attitude but is hoping the poor turn out is a one off.
