Authorities in Tianjin say more than 500 others were injured in the blasts.
Toxic chemicals and gas were stored in the building.
Patrick is a tourist in Tianjin. He says the damage seems not to have reached beyond a two or three kilometre radius from the explosion.
“The city itself is fine, this more like a small industrial area…I think the ground zero must look terrible” he said.
“Then two or three kilometres away some glasses were shattered, but otherwise than that the city is fine” he added.
