Osborne warns Brexit will hit Northern Ireland hard

George Osborne's in Northern Ireland today as campaigning continues ahead of the landmark vote in just under three weeks time.

He says a vote to leave the European Union would cause an economic shock in the North and would cost the region 1-point-3 billion pounds.

Speaking to reporters at Warrenpoint this morning Mr Osborne says farmers in particular would suffer:

It comes as politicians in the Republic say the vote is of serious concern to those living along the border.

Fianna Fáil TD Brendan Smyth says local people fear that getting into and out of the North will become much more difficult – if Britain leaves the EU.
