It follows an unannounced HIQA inspection which criticised some hygiene practices at the Clonmel Health Facility and discovered incidents of blood stained and unclean instruments and high dust levels.
A plan agreed with the Health Information and Quality Authority to address areas that require improvements is now being implemented.
Grace Rothwell – who only recently took up the role of General Manager – says hygiene is a priority for them and pointed out much of the criticism focused on the older part of the hospital.
