Michael Lowry to vote against new drink driving legislation

Tipperary TD Michael Lowry is going to vote against the new drink driving legislation.

The second stage of the Bill was debated in the Dail yesterday.

The Thurles based independent deputy normally supports the Fine Gael led government but has elected to oppose them on the Road Traffic Amendment Bill.
Although the Taoiseach has previously indicated that his party colleagues can freely vote for or against the bill.

Legislation which is currently before the Dáil would see people lose their drivers licence if they’re caught drink driving.

Michael Lowry says this measure by Minister Ross is excessive and targets rural Ireland…
