It's claimed those behind a spate of break-ins to houses in the Thurles area are being given local information.
A public meeting is being held in the town later this month to highlight the issue and to set up a community text alert system for Thurles.
Members of the Gardai, Muintir na Tire and security specialists will attend the gathering in the Anner Hotel on October 29th at 7.30.
Local Councillor Jim Ryan says there's not pattern to the break-ins but that there appears to be local involvement with outside gangs getting information from locals.
