A man is due in court this morning in relation to a scam where an elderly woman in Clonmel was deceived out of a significant sum of money.
A man claiming to be a tradesman called to the woman’s home in Clonmel earlier this week and carried out works.
He then drove the woman to the bank where she withdrew a large sum of money to pay him.
Gardai say the sum paid was considerably more than the work was worth.
The man was arrested by Gardai in Clonmel yesterday.
He is due before Cashel court later this morning.
