Father Michael Cusack has given the go-ahead for people to post pictures of themselves online as they attend the local Novena.
The Redemptorist event in Dundalk is running until Thursday, and up to 10,000 people are said to be attending daily services.
Fr Cusack says some people might not be impressed with the 'novena selfie' initiative, but he won't be put off novel ways to encourage more people into the church:
“Maybe, bit I think at this stage we've tried so many things already here – we'd be known for trying different things, so maybe they're tired of telling me that they find stuff disrespectful”.
“My latest one id to try and plan a Mexican wave” he added.
