IFA President Joe Healy says farming can be a dangerous occupation which is why it's so important that farmers take a proactive approach to safety.
Today is about encouraging farm families to take time to review their Farm Safety Risk Assessment document to make their farms a safer place to work and live.
Joe Healy says that staying safe is not just about protecting your health but the productivity of your farm business. The IFA has produced a Farm Safety Risk Assessment Planner, which he is encouraging all farm families to use.
National Farm Safety Awareness Day is part of the IFA's ongoing SAVE LIVES – Think Safety – Farm Safely campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of working on a farm and to encourage farmers to change working practices to reduce risks.
