House prices in Tipperary rising

New figures from property website MyHome-dot-ie indicate that the recovery in the housing market looks likely to continue throughout 2016.

This report, which was compiled in association with Davy, shows that house prices outside of Dublin look set to rebound in 2016.

Asking prices for newly listed properties for sale rose by 2.1% nationally and by 0.9% in the capital during the first three months of the year.

In Tipperary, the cost of a three-bedroom semi detached house, rose by 4% to 125 thousand euro…However median property prices across all types remained unchanged for the third consecutive quarter at 150 thousand, down 2.6% on the year.

The report’s analysis of the Property Price Register indicates that Dublin and the commuter belt counties last year accounted for 75% of transactions that exceeded €220 thousand, the threshold below which lenders require a 10% deposit.

According to Conall MacCoille, the author of the report….house prices in 2016 will be dominated by a tight market which is short on supply.
