University Hospital Limerick accounts for over one third of the patients being cared for on trolleys today.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation there are 149 people without a bed at hospitals across the country.

51 of these are in UHL which provides emergency cover for North Tipp, Clare and Limerick.

This is nearly four times the number at the next busiest with 13 patients on trolleys at Mayo University Hospital.
