The Sunday Business Post is reporting the figures have been released amid growing concerns about access to ICU facilities.
The newspaper says new modeling shows the country is – grossly unsafe from a patient safety perspective – due to a shortfall in the high dependency beds.
The study also claims delays in treatment due to a lack of ICU beds in turn causes an increase in the financial cost of the Health sector to the economy.
