Months of events are planned and every county including Tipperary – the birthplace of Rising Leader Thomas McDonagh will have their own commemorations and celebrations to mark 100 years since the rising.
Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Heather Humphreys will be attending a state event in Dublin later today.
