Commercial rates in Tipperary under fire

A Tipperary businessman who is in the process of rebuilding his fire hit premises has hit out at the level of commercial rates.

In October 2016 the Martin family were left devastated after their furniture manufacturing business on the outskirts of Nenagh was gutted by fire.

However 10 months on reconstruction of the factory and showrooms is at an advanced stage.

Paddy Martin hopes to have Tippo International back up and running at Kilkeary near Nenagh by mid-November.

Speaking on Tipp Today he hit out at the rates being levied on his business as he tries to resurrect it from the ashes.

Tippo International hopes to return to full employment levels as soon as possible.

Paddy Martin says it was important not just to him to rebuild the business.
