Donald Trump will this morning he'll attend a prayer service and enjoy a cup of coffee with outgoing President Barack Obama and soon-to-be former First Lady Michelle Obama.

Around 100 riot police stood outside the national press club in downtown DC protecting a group a so-called alt Right inauguration party from a large crowd of protesters.

Some tear gas was used and an effigy of Donald Trump burned when around 500 protesters chanted outside.

Over 120,000 people are expected to protest amid a crowd of 700,000 spectators from early today.
