Noeline Blackwell – the Tipperary born CEO of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre – says they have to trust Gardaí to investigate cases properly.

It follows revelations the suspect of an alleged rape in Dublin was on bail at the time of the assault.

A Spanish student told Gardaí she was held against her will and raped numerous times near Sandymount Strand.

The 24 year old suspect was released without charge and a file is being sent to the DPP.
