Counting begins in Northern Ireland elections

The vote in the six counties was part of multiple polls across the UK yesterday.

More than 2-and-a-half-thousand seats are up for grabs on more than 100 English councils – with Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales also electing reps for their national assemblies.

It's been a tough night for Labour – losing 11 seats in the Scottish Parliament.

Nicola Sturgeon's on course to lead the SNP to a third consecutive term in power at Holyrood, with the Conservatives challenging to be the second biggest party.

Ukip have had a good night in England – where they're gaining seats on councils – and hoping to take Welsh Assembly seats.
