The issue was raised at this month's meeting of the Thurles Templemore Municipal District which heard the complete lack of access at works on the Cabragh road could affect emergency services.

It was raised by SF's David Doran who said that a woman with a sick child was hampered by the lack of a through road at the works in her efforts to get emergency care. He wants the council to ensure that when such works are being carried out, some form of acess is maintained in the event of an a serious incident.
