Council accused of ‘abandoning’ Templemore following amalgamation

The structure, which was built in 1816 as a market house, has remained vacant since the abolition of the town council and the transfer of staff to other local authority offices.

There are fears its condition could deteriorate rapidly unless its structural problems are addressed and a new report has recommended external works before the building is secured.

However former town councillor and Cathaoirleach of the Thurles Templemore Municipal District John Hogan says that's not good enough.
