Claims items stolen from graves in Tipperary are being sold at markets

In recent weeks families of loved ones buried in Saint Patricks have been left deeply distressed after statues, ornaments and other keepsakes have been stolen from their plots.

The issue was raised at this weeks meeting of the Thurles – Templemore Municipal District where Councillor Jim Ryan urged officials to curtail access to the cemetery in the evenings in an effort to deter the thieves.

The independent representative claims the stolen items are being sold at markets across the country.
