Local Authority workers have been putting in very long hours for several days trying to tackle widespread flooding problems across the Premier County.
While there is a slight reprieve from the incessant rain so far this week further heavy downpours are forecast again over the coming days and weeks.
A freeze on taking on new public sector staff has been in place since 2009 – however Tipperary Independent TD Mattie McGrath says Council CEO Joe McGrath has it within his powers to lift the ban on recruitment.
