A South Tipperary Labour Councillor is strongly critical of plans to charge householders for water meters.

The Taoiseach confirmed over the weekend that while the Government will cover the cost of installing the meter, the householder will have to pay for the meter itself.

Carrick on Suir based Councillor Bobby Fitzgerald is vehemently opposed to the idea and says Labour need to get back to its roots and serve the ordinary working person.
