Gardaí in Thurles have seized a dog and her litter of pups following a complaint from a member of the public.
On Bank Holiday Monday officers searched a property in the area and discovered a German Shepherd and 9 pups in what were described as deplorable conditions.
All of the dogs have been taken into care and a Garda investigation is ongoing.
