Adi Roche to be awarded honorary doctorate

A total of six public figures are to be given the awards from the college at a ceremony this afternoon. 

Clonmel native Adi Roche is the founder of the Chernobyl Children's Project and has worked for the last 30 years to help the children affected by the nuclear explosion. 

Also included on the list is humanitarian Ali Hewson and Michael Flately. 

The college says it's making the awards to mark their exceptional efforts in the arts, public and humanitarianism sectors.
