There are calls for local initiatives to get more girls back into sport in Tipperary.
Last year a nationwide campaign – 20 x 20 – was launched both to increase female activity in sport as well as boost the media coverage and public attendance of sports involving women.
Nenagh Councillor Seamie Morris welcomes this but feels more needs to be done on a countywide basis.
