Passenger numbers at Shannon Airport have risen for a third consecutive month.
Figures for August show 170 thousand people passed through the Mid West airport – a three percent increase on the same month last year.
The greatest uplift was in transatlantic services with 35% more passengers travelling between Shannon and the US/Canada compared to 12 months ago.
This is seen as a huge boost to the entire region with many visitors using the airport as a gateway to Tipperary, Clare and Limerick.
