N24 project to be discussed with Transport Minister

A delegation from Tipperary County Council will meet with the Transport Minister Shane Ross on Monday to galvanise support for the N24 project.

Phase 1 of the proposed project between Limerick and Cork could be built at a cost of 540 million euro and would join with the M8 at Cahir, which would include a bypass of Tipperary Town and would culminate with access to the ports in Waterford and Rosslare.

This would include a further bypass of Clonmel taking traffic off of the ring road.

This option would save an estimated 400 million euro when compared to other proposals for similar types of projects.

Speaking on Tipp Today this morning, Tipperary Councillor Dennis Leahy says the N24 proposal is the most attractive option
