Tipperary County Council has been accused of failing to manage its housing stock properly.

The accusation from Deputy Mattie McGrath follows a report by the National Oversight and Audit commission which highlighted a number of issues at local authority’s right across the country.

It showed that Tipperary County Council has never carried out a condition survey of their social housing stock. Less than half of the 31 local authorities have ever done so.

Tipp FM’s Deputy Head of News Pat Murphy interviewed Mattie McGrath who believes Tipperary County Council’s approach to housing is in need of urgent and radical reform.
