Established by Austin Crowe in 1981, Dundrum House Hotel has expanded greatly in the intervening years but concern was raised this week after it emerged the period home had been placed in Recievership.
Located 13 kilometres from Cashel on the outskirts of the village of Dundrum it now includes an 18 hole golf course, leisure centre and holiday homes on the 200 acre site.
Along with many in the hospitality and leisure sector the economic downturn impacted negatively on Dundrum House Hotel Golf and Leisure Resort.
Receivers were appointed earlier this week sparking fears for the future of the 100 full and part-time staff working there.
Tipp FM has learned today that the Dalata Hotels Group is set to take over operation the west Tipp hotel.
The Dalata Hotels Group – which is Ireland's largest hotel group – already, operates the Clonmel Park Hotel.
