Clonmel Hospital group vow to fight renewed threat to services.

Any move to downgrade hospital services in South Tipperary will be met with stiff opposition.

That was the message from the Save Our Acute Hospital Services group which met last night.

This was in response to what is seen as a renewed threat to the future of services at South Tipperary General Hospital and in particular the maternity unit.

Committee chairman Deputy Seamus Healy says the public march three years ago was a success and says it can be done again.
